Princess Ines de Borbon-Dos Siclias y Orleans

The marriage of Princess Ines de Borbon-Dos Sicilias y Orleans to Nobile Michele Carrelli Palombi dei Marchesei di Raiano was celebrated on October 13th at the Iglesia de Santa Leocadia, Toledo, with 300 family and friends. The celebrant was the priest at the bride s parish, Fr Antonio Cano, who had helped her start special classes for under-privileged children in the parish. The reception was held afterwards outside the city of Toledo, on a terrace overlooking the city followed by a seated dinner.

The bride was given away be her father and wore the wedding dress by Pierre Balmain that had been worn by her mother, Princess Anne of Orléans at her own wedding in 1965 with a 17th century coral tiara that had been presented to her by the family of the groom. The petition prayers were offered by her sister Archduchess Maria, her nephew Don Jaime de Borbon y Landaluce, and Pedro de Lopez Quesada.

The bride entered to the Entry of the Queen of Sheba, by Handel (from the Oratorio Solomon), the Kyrie was by the English 16th century composer John Taverner, the Alleluia was Exsultate Jubilate by Mozart, the Ave Maria by Tomás de Victoria, the Sanctus by Charpentier, the Agnus Dei from Mozart s Requiem, during the communion a Duet Adam and Eve from Haydn s Creation, and the Exsultat Domine from the King shall Rejoice by Handel. During the Offertory to the Virgin the Santa Maria by King Alfonso the Wise, during the Signing of the Registry the Cantata 208 of J.S. Bach, and the bride and groom and their parents with the King and Queen, the Prince of the Asturias, and the Infantas Elena and Cristina with their husbands, the Infanta Alicia and Countess of Paris (grandmothers of the bride), and other close members of the royal family, to Ye Happy Nations Round, from Alexander Balus by Handel.

Among those present in addition to those already named were the sisters of the bride and their husbands, Pedro de Lopez Quesada and Archduke Simeon, the Infantas Pilar and Margarita and their husbands, Princess Isabelle, Chantal, and Claude of Orleans, the Duke and Duchess of Braganza, Archduke Rudolf, Princes Casimiro and Maria Cristina of the Two Sicilies, Princess Annunziata of the Two Sicilies, Prince Aimone of Savoy, Princes Jean and Eudes and Charles-Louis of Orléans and their wives, Prince and Princess Michel of Orléans, Princess Adelaide of Orléans, Princess D. Esperanza de Borbon-Dos Sicilias de Orléans-Braganza, the Marques and Marquesa de Laula, the Duke of Huescar, the Duke and Duchess of Segorbe, Prince and Princess Rupert Loewenstein, Count and Countess Alfonso Pucci, the Ambassador of Italy to Madrid, the Ambassador of Spain to the Holy See, the Archduke Andrew Salvator and some fifty other members of the Orleans and Borbon families, as well as a large group of Italians related to or friends with the family of the groom and senior members of the Constantinian Order.
